Spine & Spinal Cord Injuries
Spinal fractures and spinal cord injuries can occur following falls, traffic accidents, or sports injuries. Severe pain, numbness/weakness, limited mobility, and urinary/bowel problems may develop. Urgent imaging is required for diagnosis.
What are the stages of treatment?
Surgical Treatment
If there is displacement, spinal compression, or significant instability in the fracture, surgical stabilization is performed to protect nerve tissue and restore spinal stability. Early and correct surgical approach increases the chances of recovery.
Non-Surgical Treatment
In suitable fracture cases, immobilization with a neck brace/corset, pain control, and early rehabilitation are planned. Neurological status is monitored during close follow-up.
